description

The reinvention of the existing Jefferson City High School (JCHS) began with a master plan that ACI Boland completed in 2014. Teamed with The Architects Alliance and DLR Group, ACI Boland acted as the consulting Architect of Record for renovations at Jefferson City High School and the simultaneous new Capital City High School.

Part of the project was renovating the adjacent Nichols Career Center and adding an indoor link between that and the high school. The connecting link provides a new, modern face to the building complex and a safer, more secure entry and administrative areas. It also converts the media center at JCHS to the modern age and better integrates it into the life of the building.

The renovations provided unified collaborative spaces, fresh learning spaces, expanded dining, extracurricular spaces, and better on-site management of arrivals and dismissals. Finally, the expansion included a new ICC-500 storm auxiliary gym and a design that provides true access from the stadium up to the high school building.
