How long have you been in the industry? How long have you been in your specific sector? Healthcare, education, commercial, etc.?
I have been in the industry for over 6 years. I’ve worked on mostly Commercial and Multi-Family projects while recently working on education projects.
Why did you decide to work in the AEC industry?
I started drafting in high school and always liked drawing buildings and how they came together. After my time on active duty, I still wanted to draw and learn how to design buildings and get them constructed.
What is your favorite thing about working on projects?
How the building comes together and all the detailing works itself into the right place to make one cohesive thought and design. There is always at least one detail or one aspect that is different and need thought through so not every project is exactly the same.
How would you describe your approach to projects?
Excitement and willingness to learn/solve the problem(s) that arise in every project. Communication is another important thing for me even if some of the information may seem irrelevant.
How do you want clients to feel when they work with you?
Responsive, tactful, willingness to solve the problem, and getting the job done.
What motivates you?
Food, particularly sweets like cookies or brownies. They are just too hard to pass on with my sweet tooth.
Where is your happy place?
At home with the kids, wife, and dogs watch the Chiefs on a Sunday.
